hi, I’m Avery.

I’m the parent of two young kiddos who definitely keep me on my toes. I practice yoga and mindfulness, but not religiously. I like to mix up my reading genres, sometimes escaping into fantasy or historical fiction, and often times diving deep into therapeutic or self-help stuff. I have more half-read books than I can count and though I try to stay organized, my house isn’t always as clean or neat as I’d like it to be. I value deep, authentic relationships and feel that this enhances my ability to connect with my clients.

Becoming a parent while trying to balance a career and a relationship absolutely ROCKED me to my core. I felt like I had always been able to handle it all with ease, but somewhere along the line, it started to feel like I was floundering. Through my own therapy, I was able to learn how to slow down and be more gentle with myself. I was able to learn how to embrace the sometimes messy parts of life and accept that I am a human with flaws just like everyone else.

I provide Trauma-informed therapy to women like you.

I work with women who have high expectations for themselves and often have a hard time admitting or even identifying that they need help. They desperately want meaningful connections with others, but find being vulnerable to feel really scary. They want to be able to better balance the overwhelming responsibilities that come with all of the roles that they play. They want to be able to find space to breathe in the constantly moving world around them.

Many of the women that I work with experience symptoms of anxiety, trauma, and ADHD, many being undiagnosed or late-diagnosed ADHD.

A little more about my experience

I did my undergraduate work at Lebanon Valley College in Annville, PA, majoring in psychology and graduating in 2010. Fun fact, while there I also played collegiate D-3 field hockey.

I then attended graduate school at West Chester University and graduated from that program in 2012.

I became a Licensed Professional Counselor (LPC) in 2017 and have been licensed since.

I have been working in the mental health field for well over a decade, and I have worked across various levels of care and positions.

I’ve worked with children and families in their homes and communities in BHRS programs, as well as worked in a local community mental health agency providing school-based outpatient therapy, outpatient therapy for adults, and then moved into a program director role where I stayed for 6+ years and provided supervision to many other therapists.

In 2021, after having my second child, I moved out of community mental health and began working in a group practice to have some more flexibility in my schedule, and in 2024 I officially launched my own practice.

I continually am learning and always seeking consultation to become a better clinician and get the support I need to best support my clients.

I’ve completed post-masters trainings on various topics including: anxiety, ADHD, PTSD, complex PTSD, suicide prevention, parts work, somatic techniques, narcissistic abuse, gaslighting, mindfulness, dissociation, and healthy boundaries.

I love listening to podcasts and audiobooks and can be frequently found listening to those about trauma, relationships, and ADHD. I also love recommending books to my clients, as they can be an excellent tool to use between sessions and can foster beautiful conversations and insight.
